At The Beacon Resource Center, we dream of a community that creates space for everyone to thrive. We envision a West Side South Bend where each person, from any corner of our community, has room to grow. We ground our work in the belief that there is a critical connection between individual and communal flourishing. As an organization rooted in a place experiencing significant challenges and serious threats to the shared sense of prosperity we all desire, our vision has been consistent since our founding. We develop partnerships and programs that cultivate potential and foster transformation in everyday life.
An old bowling alley turned community center, Founded in 2011, The Beacon Resource Center is a shared space non-profit that is fertile ground for transformation on the westside of South Bend, whose impact on the community has been widely recognized and celebrated by our many partners and stakeholders. We believe community transformation comes from our partners, not from us.The Beacon provides on-going space and support to residents, organizations, and schools so that they can grow, shine, and be change agents in the community.
